Battle of the Books

Page history last edited by Jan 10 mos ago

High School Battle of the Books Competition is scheduled for Thursday, April 2, 2009 at Woodward Library.

The public librarians will conduct a round robin competition using all their side rooms to keep groups separated. The time is 3:00-5:00. Who is competing this year?

High School Battle of the Books Field Trip

Here are some possible dates for consideration:

Saturday April 25

Saturday May 1

Saturday May 9

Jan Rottner: All of the above dates work for Duncan. We did fund raise as our students were hoping for the Stanford/Great America trip. They will be disappointed if we don't go out of town.

The later we go, the better the weather might be, or not. Can you check your Master Calendars to see if there are any conflicts?

Fresno High has volunteered to organize the trip. Our Battle of the Books Team has suggested a trip to Stanford University and Great America. Any other ideas?

Janice wrote: Since I have not fundraised I won't be going out of town. I'd like to suggest a waterpark here in town for others wanting to stay. We can bring food for a picnic in the park.

Janice wrote: I will do the trophies again this year.

Sue wrote (FHS):I am hoping we can make a decision concerning the BOB field trip soon. If we will be going out of town I will need to reserve a bus, etc. I am willing to stay in town as well, as suggested by Janice. We could go to Wild Water Adventures at a minimal cost to all, have a BBQ, etc. This would also give us the opportunity to bring our families, other teacher sponsers, etc. Although we have done some fundraising, I'm not sure how many of our kids can afford an out of town trip, although I am sure this is their preference. Either way, what do you think?
